Barks of Love, an Orange County dog rescue organization, recently gained the support of Animal Support and its trio of co-founders: Dr. Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi who are all dedicated to eliminating animal abuse, overpopulation and neglect.

“The responsibility of pet ownership is very great, and the pairing of dogs and other pets with the proper permanent owners can be very tricky,” says Julian Omidi, co-founder of Animal Support. “Barks of Love takes great care to screen potential pet owners so that the animals have a secure and loving home for the rest of their lives. We’re very proud to help with this because we at Animal Support believe in uniting animals with the most responsible, secure owners available.”

Barks of Love began as a rescue organization that took dogs from animal shelters and raised and trained them with the intent of fostering them to the appropriate families. The screening process for the families is extensive; Barks of Love representatives visit the homes, interview the family members and make pet recommendations that suit the families’ lifestyle, personalities and needs. If no dog is found to be a suitable match, no adoption takes place. When a dog is placed, volunteers for Barks of Love encourage the families to maintain contact in order to ensure the well-being of the dogs and continue to offer assistance as needed.

Barks of Love does not have a centralized kennel or dog care facility; it uses the resources of volunteer foster homes to board the dogs and provide care until permanent residences can be found. The pre-adoption foster homes provide the dog with food, toys, supplies, veterinary care, tracking chips and training services. Volunteers are often happy to help adoptive families with any personalized training assistance they may need.

Barks of Love (http://www.barksoflove.org) was established in 2008 with the purpose of placing shelter dogs with stable and loving permanent residences. Although there is no centralized boarding facility for the dogs, Barks of Love does use a large network of foster homes for the dogs, which provides the animals with the necessary supplies, training and medical care.

Animal Support (http://www.animalsupport.org) is dedicated to addressing pet over-population and abuse by promoting charities working on behalf of animal well-being. The organization was founded by brothers Dr. Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi to advocate for animal protection, rescue, adoption, and spay and neuter laws. Animal Support does not accept donations but encourages direct contributions of money and talents to the charities and organizations featured on our website.
