Barks of Love, an Orange County dog rescue organization, is grateful to Animal Support and its co-founders, Julian Omidi and Dr. Michael Omidi. Barks of Love is a dog rescue organization in Orange County, California.

“Matching dogs with a loving foster family not only makes room for new animals at shelters, it makes it more likely that they will find an ideal permanent home,” says Ashley Cunningham, President & Founder of Barks of Love. “We’d like to thank the Omidi brothers for supporting Barks of Love and for helping us to give rescued dogs the caring homes they deserve.”

Barks of Love (http://www.barksoflove.org) was established in 2008 with the purpose of placing shelter dogs with stable and loving permanent residences. Although there is no centralized boarding facility for the dogs, Barks of Love does use a large network of foster homes for the dogs, which provides the animals with the necessary supplies, training and medical care.

The dog adoption process is lengthy, but it is essential to determine whether or not the interested families are appropriate for long-term animal care. The families are screened, individual family members are interviewed, the premises are inspected and, if there are other animals in the house, they will be evaluated in order to make sure they are emotionally capable of coexisting with other pets. If a family is found to be suitable after the assessment, Barks of Love then pairs the family with the dog whose size and disposition is deemed the most fitting. If no such dogs are available, no adoption takes place.

Barks of Love encourages adoptive families to keep in touch with the foster volunteers, so that the volunteers are kept abreast of the dogs’ progress and to potentially offer tips and advice. Volunteers will occasionally visit the adoptive homes in order to give personalized training sessions, if needed.

Animal Support (http://www.animalsupport.org) is dedicated to addressing pet over-population and abuse by promoting charities working on behalf of animal well-being. The organization was founded by brothers Dr. Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi to advocate for animal protection, rescue, adoption, and spay and neuter laws. Animal Support does not accept donations but encourages direct contributions of money and talents to the charities and organizations featured on our website.
