Animal Support and its trio of co-founders are pleased to provide support to the STAR Eco Station, a nonprofit exotic wildlife rescue and environmental science center. The STAR Eco Station provides refuge for abused, abandoned, and illegally-imported exotic wildlife confiscated by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.

“The STAR Eco Station has done an excellent job over the past 15 years both educating the public about environmentalism and biological science and being a safe haven for neglected, smuggled, and abandoned exotic animals,” says Julian Omidi, co-founder of Animal Support. “We are honored to support this highly valuable organization and to help them in their mission of saving the lives of exotic animals and spreading the word of conservation education.

STAR Education began as a children’s outreach and enrichment program in 1986 in Culver City, CA. Eleven years later, the Bozzi family founded STAR Eco Station as a subsidiary of STAR Education. Housing over 200 rescued exotic animals at any given time, the STAR Eco Station is a last chance for exotic animals that have been turned away by other facilities. Animals often arrive in terrible condition; neglected, injured, sick, or suffering from emotional distress. The animals are sheltered, given the necessary medical treatment, and provided with expert care. In addition to rescuing exotic animals, the STAR Eco Station offers educational programs for the public and schools in over 40 California school districts. Through public tours, field trips, assemblies, workshops, events, and day camp, visitors are given a first-hand experience with parrots, reptiles, wild cats, small mammals and aquatic life.

Animal Support (http://www.animalsupport.org) is dedicated to addressing pet over-population and abuse by promoting charities working on behalf of animal well-being. The organization was founded by brothers Dr. Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi to advocate for animal protection, rescue, adoption, and spay and neuter laws. Animal Support does not accept donations but encourages direct contributions of money and talents to the charities and organizations featured on our website.
